On 16th March 2026, the Deposit Insurance Corporation joined the Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) and other financial sector stakeholders in launching Global Money Week 2026 at Zingwangwa Secondary School. This year’s theme, “Smart Money Talk,” emphasizes the importance of empowering young people with the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions.
The launch event was graced by the Deputy Governor (Operations) of the Reserve Bank of Malawi, Dr. Kisu Simwaka, and featured a range of engaging activities aimed at promoting financial literacy among students.
The DIC is proud to support initiatives that build financial awareness among young people, helping them understand the importance of saving, responsible financial management, and the role of institutions that safeguard financial stability.
